The road show is packed with good music, dancing, food, drinks etc. It will in no doubt bring an element of fun that will otherwise relieve the supposed tensed state of the citizens due to the coming election. The rally is also to let the Presidents know that  the youths are 100% in support of him.

My husband has gone mad; dissolve our marriage, woman begs court

Lagos—A fashion designer, Abosede Lawal, has told an Igando Grade A Customary Court to dissolve her 20 years old marriage with her estranged husband, Demola Lawal, who she alleged is mentally deranged.

Abosede, a resident of 29, Ore Ofe Street, Governor’s Road, Ikotun, told the court that she had five children with her husband, a mechanic.

She told the court President, Rasack Ishola-Adeyeri, that when they got married, she did not know that he had mental disorder until she gave birth to their first child.

She said he started behaving funny and saying things nobody understood at the hospital where she gave birth.

Lagos state corpers lodge robbed

According to sources, the Catholic corpers lodge located at Akowonjo in Lagos was robbed in the early hours of today around 1.03am. One of the corpers who was outside due to the heat was held at gun point and was asked to enter one of the rooms where they robbed them of their phones. An alarm was raised by a corper, but the robbers shot in the air to scare people from attacking them and jumped the fence which is suspected to be the same way they came in.
Thankfully, no life was lost. Only a few were shaken by the incident. The Nigeria police responded quickly, they came in two batches. But the thieves had already gone before they arrived.

OBJ speaks about Buhari`s certificate issue…

Below is what the former president allegedly said. I use allegedly because after now, he will come out and say he never said it. Read below...

The truth of the matter is that Jonathan is aware that Buhari is qualified to contest for President Election but some hawks with Jonathan, do not want him to contest Because they believed that he will win and come for them.

The issue came up in 2007, and we investigated and found out that his WASEC is with the military and that was why he was allowed to contest in 2007.

Buhari cannot listen to anyone about his certificates because as a General of Nigeria Army,he will speak when he chooses, not by Femi Fani Kayode and Okupe asking him.

Fayose and other corrupt People including Kashamu do not want Buhari because of his anti-corruption slogan. Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.

I see Buhari as the next President and Jonathan is aware of that, and that is the reason they are hitting him everywhere to put confusion in his camp. But a General is always a General….

Gen. Buhari's classmates come out to defend him...

During his media briefing yesterday, Gen. Buhari mentioned two prominent Nigerians he went to school with, former president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Umaru Abdullahi and former inspector-general of police, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie. The two men have spoken to the media confirming that they indeed went to school together.

In an exclusive interview with Leadership, Alhaji Coomasie said they & about 5 prominent Nigerians attended the same school.

Coomasie said Buhari was the head boy and loved to play football during their days in school. He mentioned the former PCA Justice Abdullahi; Gen Shehu Musa Yar’Adua; the late Grand Khadi Halilu, and a Second Republic senator Abdul Ali as some of their classmates.

Coomassie said:

“While we were in school, Buhari was the head boy. He loves playing football. We were all close friends in school. After we finished secondary school, General Buhari decided to join the military, I joined the police and Justice Abdullahi decided to go to the university.”

“I, the late Shehu Yar’Adua, the late Halilu, a Grand Khadi in Katsina, Senator Abdul Ali, a Senator in the 2nd Republic and several other attended the same school”

On his part, Justice Abdullahi described Buhari as a brilliant student when they were in school, saying he was Buhari’s classmate from primary to secondary school, saying:

“I, Buhari and some others had the best results during our final examinations in secondary school back then. He was a very brilliant student in school, no doubt; we attended the same school from primary to secondary school.”

Buhari should withdraw from the election and report to the nearest police station- FFK

Spokesperson of the PDP Presidential campaign organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode has called on the APC Presidential candidate, Gen Buhari to withdraw from the presidential race following the controversy surrounding the latter's academic qualification. He made this call yesterday while addressing newsmen in Abuja

"Information reaching us now has shown that the Presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed today (yesterday) in Kano at a press conference that the affidavit he swore to in which he claimed that his credentials were in the custody of the military was not true after all. The implication of the action of this so-called “Mr Clean” is nothing but perjury and we all know that this is a grave criminal offense under our laws and constitution.

Al Mustapha (allegedly) narrates how Abacha died 17 years ago

I wrote allegedly because I don't know if he really said this, found it on Africa Telegram. Major Hamza Al Mustapha was the Chief Security Officer of Gen. Sani Abacha, former Nigeria military head of state from November 1993 to his death in June 1998.

Katsina College releases Buhari's WASC results. See document

 

Premium Times has exclusively obtained the secondary school certificate examination results of Gen. Buhari from the Government College, formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, where he graduated from in 1961. The results, according to PT, confirms Buhari’s claim that he undertook the University of Cambridge West African School Certificate Examinations and obtained five credits in English Language, Geography, Hausa Language, History, and Health Science.

A soldier with a rifle cannot claim to be under-equipped- Badeh

The Chief of Defence staff, Air Chief Marshall Alex Badeh, says any Nigerian soldier with a riffle cannot complain of being under-equipped. According to him, Nigerian soldiers enjoy free accommodation, transportation, Electricity and other pecks which those in the civil service do not enjoy. Badeh said this and more in an interview with the Defence Headquarters magazine recently.

We live in houses we don’t pay for accommodation, we have buses that bring troops to work every day and take them back home, we don’t pay for light, we don’t pay for water, our salaries are good compare to what is paid in the civil place, if someone with school certificate joins the Army, by the time he is five years in the service, his salary has doubled that of a graduate. Why do you think Nigeria is doing that for us? Nigeria is doing that for us because we have vowed that we will defend our nation if need be with our blood; so for a soldier to come up and say am not well equipped, yet you have a riffle; what do you want? You want APC, you want tanks? The basic weapon of an infantry man is riffle, so why should there be mutiny…” he said

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare down with cancer

Former Nigerian International goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare has been diagnosed with cancer. The ex-Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper is currently at a Spanish hospital where he is undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer. Agbonavbare was a member of Nigeria’s U-21 Mexico 1983 Flying Eagles, 1984 AFCON silver medalist and 1994 AFCON gold medalist. He lost his wife three years ago to breast cancer.

Bird flu now in seven states in Nigeria - FG

The Federal government says the highly transmittable avian influenza viral disease also known as Bird flu has spread to five more states asides Lagos and Kaduna where the first cases were recorded in Nigeria. The states with the latest cases of the disease in poultry animals include Ogun, Delta, Rivers, Edo and Plateau states.

Speaking at a press conference today in Abuja, the Minister of Agriculture, Akinwunmi Adeshina said 15 commercial farms and 9 live bird Markets have been affected by the disease in the five states.
