Photo: The father/daughter kiss that's got people talking

So this is a pic of a father and his grown daughter kissing on the lips. That's Bill Belichick, the head coach for the New England Patriots of the NFL. He celebrated by kissing his daughter Amanda on the lips after his team won the NFL Super Bowl last night. Most people thought the kiss was too intimate and too weird. Many said it looked like they were making out. What do you think? Should parents be kissing their adult children on the lips, in public? You find this weird?

Moment world's largest passenger jet slices through clouds and leaves mesmerising display in its wake

This is the moment a veteran plane spotter captured a rare look at a phenomenon that exemplifies the beauty of modern-day air travel.

The aviation enthusiast named Schipholhotspot on Youtube posted a 30-second video, which shows an Airbus A380 – the world’s largest passenger airliner – slicing through a wall of clouds and leaving a mesmerising display in its wake.

The man recorded the Dubai-bound Emirates aircraft as it soared into the clouds at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. See the amazing pictures after the cut..

The superjumbo jet melts into the clouds as it makes its ascent, leaving a gaping hole in the wall as clouds swirl in its turbulent wake and form a circle that looks like the eye of a storm.

Minutes later, after the double-decker plane is long gone, the wall splits in two as the clouds continue their beautiful spin. It was shot from the ground and aviation enthusiasts are amazed by it...

Actor Val Kilmer rushed to the hospital after he started bleeding from the throat

55 year old Hollywood actor, Val Kilmer, was rushed to UCLA Medical Center's intensive-care unit in Los Angeles last week after he began bleeding from the throat. Report from TMZ below..
Val Kilmer's family believes the actor is killing himself by not dealing with a serious tumor ... because of his religious beliefs.
TMZ broke the story ... Val was rushed to the hospital Monday night after he started bleeding from the throat. Doctors at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica operated immediately and found a tumor. We're told the surgery was invasive ... they needed to enlarge a path to facilitate breathing.

Family members tell TMZ ... Val has known about the tumor since Summer. He had trouble speaking and his neck swelled to the point he covered it up with scarves and other clothing items.

The family members say they urged Val to seek treatment but he would have none of it because of his Christian Science beliefs. They say he shunned medical treatment and anyone who persisted got cut out of his life.

Christian Science followers generally believe prayer heals, not medical treatment.

The family says Val would never confess to pain because it was an admission that prayer didn't work, but when he started coughing up blood Monday his options ran out.

The family is hopeful because Val seems somewhat more receptive to treatment.

We reached out to the Christian Science Church ... so far no word back.

Presidential debate: AD VP in auto crash

Presidential debate: AD VP in auto crash
By Emman Ovuakporie & Johnbosco Agbakwuru

ABUJA—TRAGEDY hit the ongoing presidential debate as the vice presidential candidate of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, Akuchie Clinton Cliff was said to have been involved in an auto crash on his way to the airport to attend the vice presidential debate in Abuja, yesterday.

Also yesterday, another vice presidential candidate, Hassanatu Hassan of the Citizens Popular Party, CPP, who was billed to attend the ongoing debate was reportedly operated upon in an undisclosed hospital.

The coordinator of the 2015 Nigerian Elections Debate Group, NEDG, Taiwo Alimi who disclosed this at the venue of the event said both contestants were unavoidably absent because of their indispositions and had communicated to the organizers.

However, most of the candidates have blamed some of the social vices in the country especially the issue of hunger and unemployment to the scourge of corruption in Nigeria.

Specifically, the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, vice presidential candidate, Ojengbede Farida in reaction to how her party would tackle corruption if elected said hunger and unemployment that had assumed alarming proportion in the country were as a result of corruption.

Farida who said that the people of Nigeria desired a better deal than what they were getting from the present government also said that the country’s political growth was affected by the politics of money bags and godfatherism where governance had become a family affair.

The ACPN vice presidential candidate who said that the issue of corruption would not be business as usual  if the party was given the mandate stated that “until perpetrators are named, shamed and punished, corruption will not stop.”

Letter to President Jonathan

 Letter to President Jonathan

By Niyi Osundare

DEAR President Jonathan, let me begin this letter by telling you what you already know; by reminding you of what you are not expected to have forgotten: the year 2015 has been predicted to be, and is being widely seen as, the year of Nigeria’s unravelling. The year that Leviathan contraption knocked together by Frederick Lugard for the glory of the British Empire, will totter back to its separate aboriginal parts and drown an already overwhelmed Africa with another swarm of hapless refugees in an unspeakable maelstrom of the typical African misery.

This dreadful prediction is generally believed to have originated from the star-gazing wizardry of American soothsayers, reinforced by the frighteningly frank morbidity of studies such as Karl Maier’s This House Has Fallen. Some Nigerians as well as non-Nigerians interested in Nigeria’s affairs shudder at the threatening inevitability of this prediction. Others dismiss it as another tale from the seamless yarn of Nostradamus, the religious among them claiming that the God that brought us together this far is not about to abandon us and let us fall apart.
